Imam al-Haddad was a descendant of the Prophet Muḥammadﷺ. He was a Yemeni scholar and sage who is widely regarded as the renewer of Islam in the twelfth Islamic century. The book comprises advice given by Imam al-Haddad to his close students on a range of topics, such as piety or godfearingness, the etiquette of prayer, the importance of appropriate companions, and the way to give light to the heart. The advice is designed to equip seekers for their journey to Allah. The book also includes some of Imam al-Haddad’s poetry and supplications.
